My scientific work has been published in over 500 original contributions, reviews, books, book chapters, and editorials,(h-index 62, i-10 index 202). I wrote or edited 15 Books. I own several international patents.My discoveries of anti-thrombotic factors in tomatoes amd kiwifruits are patented internationally, and 3 companies Provexis Limited (www.provexis.com) in UK, and IDIA AS (www.idia.no) in Norway, Genimen Pharmacon in India are established to commercialize these discoveries. I have successfully supervised 35 PhD/MD students so far.

Fruitflow is a unique, patented, water-soluble complex of bioactive tomato compounds derived from the gel surrounding the tomato seed. It was discovered by me whilst I was at the Rowett Research Institute of Aberdeen University in Scotland.

1996 Hoffman La Roche Award for feto-placental research at the International Conference on PUFA Nutrition and Disease Prevention, Barcelona, Spain
The "Fruitflow" is the first approved functional food by the European Food Safety Authority as having a positive effect in the prevention of blood platelet aggregation.
